Fashion Blast from the Past!!!

Hey Guys:)
If ye follow my videos on Youtube ye may have heard me mention a few times that I used to dress a bit less demure than I do now ^_^ & sported a head full of beaded dreads that clanked off one-another & foretold my arrival long before my body did!!
Believe it or not though, I was extremely camera phobic before my foray into youtube & blogging and there exists little clear evidence of this other 'cyber punkish' me. Those of ye who have been asking for photo's can take a good gawk at this portrait I found this morning while visiting my friend Lorraine's website, which I totally forgot existed!!!

I had to laugh when I found this but I LOVED being so colourful & carefree fashion wise back then!
This is easily 6 yrs old, maybe little over 5 as I was tanned for the one & only time in my life after travelling around South East Asia and my tan did not last for too long once I returned to dreary Ireland.
Anyhow, thought ye might get a kick out of this as I look so different now. Ah the joys of growing up, ha ha!!

Beauteous boots & a pair of shoes ^_^

Howdy Guys:)

Anyone who knows me should know that I have a bit of a thing for foot wear, especially boots, and boy do I know how to acquire them if let loose! I do try to curb my spending on shoes etc as much as possible but alas my will is weak 0_o
I usually end up having to part with about 3 to 4 pairs of older shoes or boots a year, via charity shops, to make way for my new lovelies.
This week just gone, I purchased a pair of healed 'military' style boots from BooHoo.com for the sum of €40 (or £30 UK) that I had seen worn by a friend of mine recently. When I saw them I just HAD to get my grubby little fingers on them.

I would have preferred had the material been a tad more distressed looking but it's not enough of a complaint to put me off. I'm a UK/Irl. size 4 and these fit like a dream, though maybe a bit loose around the calf. This will be easily remedied by the addition of long socks underneath!
I also really like the look of the brown pair on the website, but they haven't been available in my size since I discovered them. Shame really as I actually prefer a brown boot to plain black in most cases!
Seeing just how comfortable the black pair are though, I'm going to keep checking back over the next couple of months and money permitting may allow myself to pick these up if the size 4 ever graces us with it's possible presence. Just yum!

I also recently (about 3-4 months ago) picked up these babies from River Island, one of my favourite shoe sources, for around the €100 which I don't mind spending here as any footwear I've ever bought from River Island has always lasted me years!!

My favourite part of these is the buckle detail and the chains hanging around the heel area. I was a tad surprised that I liked these so much as I normally am not one for 'cowboy' style boots, but these just work!
Though when I got them they were a lot wider around the top, which i didn't grow to like one bit, so I took my needle & thread to them last week and sewed up the sides to tighten them a little around my calf. Delighted with the results and they have been glued to my feet since!!

I also love how they are super-scuffed around the tips and the wool lining is lovely & cosy against the coweld!!

My last recent buy was this pair of shoes from Penneys (Primark) for about €13 or so.....

I first wanted the pair in brown but as usual they weren't in my size and when Siobhán want something, she wants it NOW! Ha ha, so instead of going away and waiting for the brown to come in in my size, I decided to go with the grey pair, which I'm delighted I did now.
And they heels are totally comfy even on the tile floors in work over an 8 hr day.

And that's the lot for the time being!! If ye are interested in seeing the rest of my shoe/boot collection here's the video from a whileen ago.....

And that's me for today!!

Take care

Kirsten Stewart; Gothic Goddess

(Kirsten Stewart in  a new photo shoot for Vogue Italia)

This is definitely a face we are seeing plenty of lately, in the run up to the latest 'Twilight Saga' installment 'Breaking Dawn' - Part 1, out next week. (Which I'm not at all embarrassed to admit I'm dying to see!!)

How gorge is she in this spread!? Kirsten is usually one for the more grungy/alternative side of fashion at the best of times (Converse on the red carpet anyone??)..... but she generally sports the more casual, paired down look, day-to-day, of skinny jeans, a baggy "T', runners and nada makeup. So it's nice to see her in a much more fashion-y, high couture style for a change, and the glamorous gothic look is one she pulls off very well!
I'm a little bit in love with her relatively simple but striking hair & makeup here too.

See the full spread here.....
